As the seasons change, as do the fragrances in my collection that I reach for on a day to day basis! Apart from a select few favourites that I wear all year long. Though I know what I like and my taste generally stays along the same lines, I find myself gravitating more towards the smokier, sexier, heavier fragrances in winter.

In a previous blog post I shared with you my top 5 summer fragrances that I found myself reaching for most, you can read here. I thought I’d do the same for the current 5 that I’ve had on rotation for the past couple of months and will continue to wear throughout the rest of the year! If you are looking for a new luxury fragrance to add to your christmas list, I would recommend any of these below!

YSL BEAUTY | Libre Intense Eau De Parfum

I have loved YSL fragrances since I was a teenager. Black Opium was my go to and still lives in my collection now! The Libre intense became an instant favourite amongst my collection. I find myself reaching for it a lot for both daytime and evening wear as it is simultaneously strong and intense, but also graceful and delicate.

PENHALIGON’S | Changing Constance Eau De Parfum

We have a lot of Penhaligon’s fragrances in our home as Michael and I are big fans and often share. Each fragrance is so unique and undeniably British, and I love the stories each one tells. Not to mention the bottles themselves are exquisite to look at.

I’m on my second bottle of Penhaligon’s Changing Constance. It is my absolute go to for most days, as I find it more subtle than their other fragrances with a perfect balance of sweet and spice.

It doesn’t shout when you enter a room, I view it as more of a personal luxury for every day wear when I am working from home on a cold winters day. It is like a warm snuggle under a blanket on a Sunday evening.

Top Notes: Pimento, Cardamom

Heart Notes: Salted Caramel

Base Notes: Cashmeran, Tobacco, Vanilla

MAISON FRANCIS KURDIJAN | Baccarat Rouge 540

I was introduced to this fragrance by a close friend in 2019 and it has since then gained a lot of popularity. I have become a big fan of Maison Francis Kurdijan’s scents and also have their candles dotted around our home (which btw burn beautifully!).

Baccarat rouge 540 is one of those scents that I just know always makes me feel good, and I have been approached many times by strangers asking what I am wearing. Michael likes to surprise me with this on special ocassions like anniversaries or birthdays, so I like to savour every drop. It is a date night favourite of mine!

Top Notes: Jasmine, Saffron

Heart Notes: Amberwood

Base Notes: Fir Resin, Cedar

KILIAN PARIS | Smoking Hot Eau De Parfum

This is a new launch from Kilian, a brand that I was introduced to in 2022 and have since been HOOKED! Being a unisex fragrance, Michael and I regularly both fight over whose collection it sits in! The name really says it all, it is a sexy, modern take on a smoky scent. A definite head turner and current top pick for a night out.

Notes: Hookah Flavour, Tobacco Absolute, Bourbon Vanilla Pure Jungle Essence

TOM FORD | Cherry Smoke Eau de Parfum

Cherry is really having its moment right now in the beauty world and I can’t get enough of Cherry Smoke by Tom Ford. I often find cherry to be a bit too sweet (even for me!) but the smokiness really adds intrigue and layers to it. I have found myself reaching for it a lot, mostly for evening wear as it is is quite a strong, powerful scent with good longevity.

Notes: Dark Cherry, Saffron, Osmanthus Absolute, Smoked Wood Accord
