In this months Best In Beauty we have a great selection of products that I have curated for you from the many I tried throughout the month of September. From a newly reformulated, staple face serum of mine, to a fragrance I can’t put down and even a highstreet/drugstore find!

VIEVE | Skin Nova Complexion Balm

If you’ve been here a while you’ll know that I’m always excited by a new Vieve launch! I believe I got a sneak preview of this at the beginning of the year (before it looks as it does now) by none other than Jamie Genevieve herself and have been impatiently waiting for it to launch since!

Described as a complexion balm, this almost ‘stretch’ like formula I would say is the perfect marriage of foundation and skin tint. With a truly customisable finish, its medium-buildable coverage can be sheered out to be worn as a light tint to even out skin tone, or built up for fuller coverage that still remains looking natural and radiant.

It also contains skincare ingredients such as hyaluronic acid to hydrate, polyglutamic acid to smooth, amino acids to plump and niacinamide to brighten. Along with that signature Vieve scent which I ADORE, but to keep in mind if you are sensitive to fragrance.

LANCOME | Genifique Serum

The Lancome Genifique Ultimate Serum is a serum you will have most definitely heard me speak about before! It’s a product I have repurchased for both myself and my kit time and time again as it is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. I find that it’s lightweight and absorbs quickly yet is hydrating, making it great for wearing under makeup.

I like to try and keep my skincare routines simple, with as little steps as possible, so incorporating products in my routine that have multiple benefits is important to me. Its new and improved formula containing their Beta Glucan-CM technology works to reduce the appearance of fine lines, redness and texture.

Combined with the brand’s iconic pre-and probiotic fractions, hyaluronic acid and licorice extract, the formula helps to nourish the skin barrier and reduce the appearance of early signs of ageing. It also now comes in new, refillable packaging.

BOBBI BROWN | Weightless Skin Foundation

I haven’t used a Bobbi Brown foundation in years! I was intrigued to try this foundation after seeing the results and wear from following some of the Bobbi Brown pro artists on Instagram.

The long-wear formula that delivers a satin, natural matte finish is enhanced with the brands Smart Skin-Balancing Technology, that works to control excess oil levels throughout wear. If you have a normal to oily skin type and are looking for a medium to full coverage foundation with a satin finish, I find this to be a great option. It still delivers a slight radiance yet once dry it feels matte to touch. So if you don’t like to use powder, with its oil control abilities and matte to touch finish this might be for you.

It reminds me a lot of the YSL All Hours foundation in terms of finish upon application and benefits throughout wear. If you are familiar with that then I think you will like this!

The shades I received which stated neutral however do lean quite yellow, so bare that in mind when selecting your shade.

PHLUR | Vanilla Skin Hair & Body Mist

Phlur is a brand that has been on my radar for some time and has recently launched in Space NK. So naturally I had to pick something up when I popped into my local store this month.

I’ve been loving layering hair and body sprays with my fragrance lately so I thought I’d pick up one of their hair & body fragrance mists to try in the scent vanilla skin. Some of my most worn fragrances in my collection have strong vanilla notes, something about it is just comforting to me (and I do have the biggest sweet tooth after all!).

This warm, creamy scent has a base of vanilla, benzoin, sandalwood and agarwood that leaves a long lasting impression on skin and clothing. I’ve been loving wearing it alone or pairing with my favourite Penhaligons Changing Constance. I am desperate to add the Eau De Parfum version to my collection!

L’OREAL | Lumi Liquid Blush

I’m a big lover of liquid products as I’m sure you may have gathered by now, so when my beady eyes caught sight of these in the background of celebrity makeup artist Mary Phillips instagram story a while back, I was eager to see more!

I feel L’Oreal Paris have really been upping their game lately with their recent launches. They have extended the Lumi range (of which I’m a big fan of their lumi glotion already) to bring us le liquid blush.

These are highly pigmented blushers, one small dot is plenty enough for the cheeks and are blendable yet buildable depending on your desired result. They have a shimmer (not glittery) that runs through them which also acts as a highlight and blush in one!

I believe they are readily available in the US but I can’t seem to find an online link to purchase in the UK… as soon as I do I’ll update this post!

HOURGLASS | Airbrush Pressed Powder

My powder collection is probably the smallest category in my entire makeup stash as it takes a lot for a powder to win me over. It has to tick a lot of boxes before it passes the test including; not being cakey, feeling heavy or separating. This Hourglass Airbrush Pressed Powder passed with flying colours.

This formula is beautiful, as is their loose powder in fairness so I wasn’t surprised that I liked this. It helps to set makeup in place, reduce excess shine and sits weightlessly on the skin. I find it is compatible with most of my concealers and helps to blur the appearance of fine lines and pores, delivering a sheer yet undetectable finish.

NATASHA DENONA | Need A Warm Palette

If you’re on the hunt for a new eyeshadow palette to take you through this season and beyond, look no further. If Autumn was an eyeshadow palette, it would be this!

Containing a colour palette of warm matte transition shades, rich terracottas and deep browns amongst champagne, golden and bronze shimmers. The possibilities are endless with this palette! I have already created an all matte warm terracotta look from this (see below) but I’m itching to create a warm shimmery smokey eye next.

Whilst a bit of a splurge, Natasha Denona palettes are in my opinion some of the best on the market. They contain equally buttery matte and shimmer formulas that are highly pigmented and blend effortlessly with minimal fall out.

You can tell the colour stories have been designed by a Makeup Artist with each shade thoroughly thought out, as you could wear them alone or layer shades together to create a fully customisable look.
