Hello 2025! We’re back with the monthly favourites in Best In Beauty January. The year has started on a high with my favourite cleansing balm of all time coming out in a black cherry scent and MAC FINALLY listening and bringing back some of our most loved and missed nude shades! VIEVE also had a great month with some exciting new launches… read on to hear why these made it into the Best In Beauty for January 2025!

My favourite cleansing balm of all time is now available in a black cherry scent!
I couldn’t have been happier to work on a campaign for this as the Elemis cleansing balm is a product I use every day to remove my makeup with and have done for years.
It effortlessly removes even the most stubborn of makeup without irritating my eyes which is a rarity. I think this is my favourite version yet and I hope it’s here to stay!

I was lucky enough to be invited along to Scotland this month to celebrate the new VIEVE launches with the Super Skin Nova being one of them!
If you’re a fan of the original skin nova I have no doubt that you will also love this. It is a skincare-makeup hybrid designed to prep, prime and lock in moisture for up to 48 hours. The slight (universal) tint to it gives a beautiful glow to the skin which is equally perfect for those no makeup days.
You can totally wear it alone but Jamie told us she likes to layer skin nova followed by super skin nova for the ultimate hydrating glow.
Lip treatments I usually reserve for evening but this ultra-nourishing lip treatment-meets-gloss has me reapplying all day long. There are so many things I love about this product. From the big applicator which makes applying a dream, the vanilla scent (same as the lip dews) but mostly the way it makes my lips look.
I hate anything that tingles to plump the lips but this product claims to increase lip volume by up to 45%, giving the appearance of fuller lips. I was surprised to find myself looking in the mirror to notice my lips looking visibly plumper!
I’ve been loving using it before bed as an overnight treatment and waking up with more plump, hydrated lips and equally pairing with a lip liner in the day.
I have an entire cupboard in the kitchen dedicated to candles and them scattered all throughout the house, so I like to think I know a good candle when I smell one!
The original VIEVE signature candle is one of my favourites (which I’m impatiently waiting to come back in stock!) so I was thrilled to find out they have launched their new Nova scent.
If you’ve tried the skin nova range, imagine the experience of applying that to your face but lingering through your house… dreamy! With notes of Neroli — Vanilla — Bergamot I can’t imagine this will stick around for long!
I recently purchased the shade ‘rosewood’ of the Summer Fridays dream lip oil and instantly fell in love with the formula. It is a non-sticky, thin in texture lip oil that delivers a sheer wash of colour that can be built up. It contains a blend of many skin loving ingredients with a glassy finish.
I was so pleased to hear they were extending the shade range to bring us 4 new shades; bare sand, midnight berry, warm beige. I think they’re all beautifully curated shades it’s hard for me to choose a favourite!
It’s not often I want to shout about a foundation formula but this really is impeccable! The unique velvett matte finish is somehow still hydrating, containing hyaluronic acid for a smooth, flawless finish without clinging to dry areas.
The smallest amount of product immediately covers redness and blemishes whilst giving a blurred seamless finish, helping to reduce the appearance of pores. I love how weightless it feels and natural it looks on the skin whilst allowing you to customise the coverage.
I’d say this is a great option if you have oily/combination skin and coverage and long-wear is a priority for you but you don’t like feeling like you’re wearing a lot of product on your face.
The Makeup Artist in me has been itching to try this for a long time and I finally got my hands on it!
I think this would make a great addition to a Makeup Artists Pro Kit but is also super handy for personal use and travelling. It allows for you to really customise its use as it contains a variety of cooler contour shades, warmer tones for bronzing and a variety of blush shades and skin tone shades for correcting/concealing.
The formula is sheer to buildable and blends effortlessly delivering a natural-radiant finish that can last up to 12 hours.
If you’d have asked me between the ages of 14-19 what lipstick I was wearing I would have answered ‘MAC, Yash’.
That was until they suddenly discontinued it along with a long list of other favourite nude shades! I still have an old expired one that has found its way into my ‘keepsakes’ box as I couldn’t face throwing it away.
So you can imagine how ecstatic I was to find out MAC was bringing back their best selling nude shades in the newly reformulated MACximal lipsticks! It is the perfect pinky nude that works with every single one of my favourite nude lip liners and across many skin tones I’ve used it on over the years!
If you’re into your makeup history (which let’s assume you are if you’re reading this!), you’ll know the OG lip liner of the 90’s supermodels era was MAC ‘Spice’.
Well that MAC ‘Spice’ changed from the perfect cool toned nude liner to a much warmer shade over the years and many makeup enthusiasts have been trying to find an exact match since (go watch Erin Parsons series over on TikTok if you want a deep dive!).
MAC heard us and re-released ‘cool spice’ which in the name suggests a much cooler version, much more like the original 90’s shade! I’d stock up before it’s out of stock!
